At our Cafes in August
Did you know that August 16 is National Tell a Joke Day? No kidding!
None of our cafes occur on this day, so we’ll make a month of it.
Bring your favorite jokes and we’ll have a good time relaxing with lots of laughs!
What is a cafe?
Our cafes are an informal social alternative to support groups for people with Parkinson’s, their carepartners and caregivers, as well as their families and friends. We come together to chat and enjoy a delicious snack or light meal.
We have different topics every month to help get the conversation started . . .
Why come to a cafe?
Parkinson’s brings us together, but it is not all that we have in common. At our cafes, you’ll meet people with similar interests, hobbies, and work and travel experiences, so there is always lots to talk about and share. You’ll learn that there is more to life than Parkinson’s!
Parkinson Social Network is different from many other Parkinson’s organizations because our focus is less on the medical perspective and more about encouraging our friends touched by Parkinson’s to enjoy a feeling of well-being. We hope that our cafés will inspire people to make the most of life with Parkinson’s.
Everyone is welcome!
People with Parkinson’s carepartners, family and friends.
Together with your significant other, or on your own.
We’re kind of informal so if you’re running late, or you have to leave early, that’s just fine.
Relax and enjoy a snack or light lunch.
Catch up with old friends . . . and meet new ones.
As we say, “Come for the coffee, stay for the company and conversation!”
Help us spread the word and bring a friend!

Our cafes are free!
Please RSVP if you can . . .
it will help us with planning our events, particularly where a light lunch is offered.
If you forget we’d love to see you anyway!

From one of our friends who participated in April’s class on Legal & Financial Considerations for Dementia:
I attend as many workshops for caregivers as I can that are offered by Insight Memory Care Center. They have all been worthwhile for me in my caregiving for my husband. My support for him would definitely not be as good as it has become because of Insight. You will receive support from the other attendees as well as the staff. Just come to one and you will be hooked. ~ Carol
