At this time, the board of directors at Parkinson Social Network (PSN) out of an abundance of caution, has decided to suspend all in person support events due to the COVID-19 /Coronavirus pandemic.

To support our community, PSN will be hosting the Side by Side Support Groups online:

Second Tuesday of each month at 10:30am

Shirlea North earned her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) from Marymount University in 2011.  She has a passion for treating those with neurodegenerative conditions and has been LSVT BIG certified since 2012.  Shirlea enjoys educating physical therapy students from local universities and is a certified clinical instructor (CI) since 2012, and holds an active Direct Access certification.  She is an active member both professional associations, American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and Virginia Physical Therapy Association (VPTA) since 2011.  Shirlea earned her Geriatric Clinical Specialist (GCS) degree in 2014 to better serve the continuum care population. She has been trained in the Meeks Method for postural correction and has extensive education in treatment for vestibular and balance dysfunction.  Shirlea has most recently pursued continuing education in pelvic floor dysfunction.
