Gerry Rebach, RN, BSN, MS, is a retired nurse, formerly certified in HIV/AIDS and Hospice and Palliative Care nursing. Her most recent employment was in adult day care for older adults with cognitive and/or physical challenges (e.g. Parkinson’s Disease, dementias). 

The talk will include definitions of palliative care and hospice care, explanation of eligibility for the Medicare hospice benefit, the more common symptoms managed with palliative care, medications and other modalities used for symptom management.  Discussion will include decision making and what to expect from providers.

The café will open at 10:00am EDT for socializing until 10:10am EDT. The meeting start promptly at 10:10 will meet for 80 minutes. You are welcome to arrive late or leave early.
