Just a reminder that all in-person support events have been suspended due to the COVID-19 /Coronavirus pandemic. To support our Parkinson’s community, PSN offers at least three online (via Zoom) support options each month.

Speaker: Dr. Sarah Lageman, PhD, ABPP-CN
Board-certified Clinical Neuropsychologist,
Associate Professor, Department of Neurology,
Virginia Commonwealth University
Dr. Lageman directs the Neuropsychology program at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center. Dr. Lageman’s research focuses on neurorehabilitation and caregiver issues. Her primary research goals include developing and evaluating cognitive, mood, and quality of life interventions tailored to individuals with Parkinson’s disease and other movement-related disorders and their caregivers.

Shirlea has been a physical therapist for 10 years with Virginian Rehab & Wellness with a passion to work with clients with movement disorders including Parkinson’s disease. Recently she has become a Certified Lymphedema Therapist and pelvic floor dysfunction specialist to encompass a more holistic approach to treating a client.
Shirlea spoke to our Parkinson’s Side by Side Support Group in March and will be tailoring this presentation for caregivers.

Pauline Reid has been student of Qigong and Tai Chi since 1989 and began teaching in 1999. She is certified to teach in several styles of Qigong and holds Advanced Instructor Certification through the National Qigong Association. Along with offering private instruction, weekly classes and workshops, Pauline mentors other qigong instructors and aspiring instructors.
Participants will learn where qigong comes from, how it ‘works’, the benefits of a qigong practice and how it differs from other modalities like Tai Chi or Reiki. The session will include learning simple qigong movements with a focus on stress reduction, relaxation, and balance.
