If you or an older person you know has fallen, you’re not alone. More than one in three people age 65 years or older falls each year. The risk of falling—and fall-related problems—rises with age. This presentation consists of research-based strategies and “grass-roots tips” to help you reduce your risk of falls, identify and address environmental fall risks, and if you or a loved one should experience a fall, some ideas of what to do.

Do you know how to prepare for an emergency situation before it takes place?
Preparedness includes those steps you take before a disaster strikes, in order to make sure you and your family remain safe and secure during and after a disaster. Developing emergency plans, learning about resources available during and after a disaster, and practicing what you would do in an emergency are key elements of preparedness.
By being prepared, you will enable first responders to take care of those in immediate life-threatening situations. Being prepared and knowing what to do will reduce fear and anxiety and may help you to avoid the danger altogether.

We will Watch & Discuss this recorded webinar from the Davis Phinney Foundation. Dr. Jay Alberts discusses why and when postural instability and freezing of gait (FOG) tend to happen in people with Parkinson’s and how exercise can impact these symptoms.
